Armed with the unique ability to investigate and understand a broad spectrum of science and technology, Patrick helps enterprises identify innovative technology opportunities through tech scouting and commercialization.
Expertise in technology areas ranging from Infocomm and electronics, big data and data analytics, network infrastructure and cybersecurity encryption, industrial IoT, battery technologies and fuel cells.
An inventor with 11 patent filings (2 granted), he holds an MSc in Management of Technology (MOT) from the National University of Singapore, and a BEng in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Computing) from Nanyang Technological University.

Fred has worked in over 10 startups, of which 3 were successfully invested. He has a deep passion for entrepreneurship education, to enable individuals and organisations to successfully launch their business ventures.
As the 1st Director Of Entrepreneurship Training at the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (NTU), he has coached and lectured to over 4,000 startups and companies from Singapore to Saudi Arabia. His innovative training methods increased success rates from 3% to 30% for software startups and from 3% to 60% for hardware startups!
He is an award winning mentor at multiple incubators and was voted the “Best Speaker” at the 4thInternational HR Conference in Barcelona.
